ReachX is hiring for a Business Development Director, Family Offices to support with a globally recognised Investment Manager. The role is based in London and offers a competitive salary package.  

 

Core objective of the role 

The individual in this role will be responsible for growing the company Family Office client base (focusing on Single FOs), sourcing new business, and working closely with the International & Institutional and UK Wealth teams to expand the company's presence in our priority markets (UK, Switzerland/other). They will oversee the marketing plans, manage the sales process, and successfully promote the company brand, product and services to attract new client in this segment.   

 

Role summary – key tasks  

  • Develop and execute a business development strategy for the Family Office in the company’s priority markets  

  • Identify and generate new business opportunities and lead on presentations to prospective clients 

  • Build and sustain relationships with prospective clients by initiating communications and conducting follow-up communications to move the opportunities through to investment  

  • Direct selling, phone work and C-level relationship development with family office investors, producing a pipeline of opportunities 

  • Partner with colleagues in the Front Office & Research to understand investment activity and performance, to help ensure that clients are well informed and knowledgeable about the assets they have entrusted to the firm

  • Collaborate with investment and marketing teams to maximize the company’s impact at client and industry events 

  • Facilitate new client onboarding to appropriate Front Office and Client Service teams 

  • Stay abreast of current trends and investment strategies; build and maintain a good understanding of the company’s product offerings, investment process and philosophy 

  • Act as the first line of defence and be fully aware of and adhere to current and future regulatory (FCA) obligations and their application to the company environment 

  • Ensure the company, as a firm, acts honestly, fairly and professionally - and in its clients’ and investors best interests at all times 

  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the Front Office, ensuring key processes and practices are consistent and aligned across the business, strengthening outcomes for clients and the firm 

  • Carry out further additional tasks as reasonably requested, over and above the core requirements as listed above 

 

Personal skills, knowledge and talents required 

Skills  

  • A disciplined business development process of prospecting, following up and closing business 

  • Experience and understanding of family offices’ culture and way of doing business 

  • A strong understanding of potential investor types and affiliated third parties in the relevant market 

  • Can speak credibly about the company investment strategy and products to family office investors 

  • Well-developed listening skills and the ability to engage in dialogue with senior investment and finance professionals, as well as with clients 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, can clearly demonstrate ability to build strong relationships with key partners and a broader network and show how the firm can deliver value 

  • Collaborative approach working with internal stakeholders and colleagues 

  • High standard of oral and written communication 

  • Self-motivated, bright, curious and propensity for continuous development and improvement 

 

Qualification and experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferably in a Finance, Economics or related field of study 

  • Investment Management Certificate (IMC) or equivalent qualification that meets ESMA guidance for Information Givers 

  • Experience in the Financial Services Industry with a particular focus on family office clients 

  • Existing network of family office clients 

 

The role will be based in London and offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. This is a full time permanent role.
